OPTONET: Designing the Vysočina Data Center
ComSource designed the architecture and supplied network and server technologies for the first phase of the Vysočina Data Centre. The solution for OptoNet used Juniper and HP platforms and prepared the infrastructure for further service development.

Customer challenge
In 2022, OptoNet decided to build a modern data centre with European grant funding. The facility was intended for telecommunications companies, internet service providers, systems integrators and organisations seeking space for backup infrastructure.
The customer needed to translate its investment plans into a specific architecture, procure the technologies and prepare secure network service operations.
ComSource’s solution and role
The first phase began in February 2022 and was completed in March 2023.
- Consultancy and refinement of the owner’s requirements.
- Architecture design covering infrastructure components, network services and security.
- Supply and implementation of routers, switches and servers, including redundancy.
- A solution built on Juniper and HP platforms.
- Commissioning of the data centre in standby mode.
Outcomes of the completed phase
The first phase delivered functional infrastructure ready for further data centre development. Completion of this phase is documented in the study; it should not be read as confirmation that all subsequent commercial services were launched.
Planned next steps
The second phase was being prepared at the stage described in the study. Plans included OpenStack implementation with Itera, deployment of the customer’s environment, and a service catalogue with SLAs following validation of operational flows.
Further planned ComSource involvement included service consultancy, operational assessment, potential load testing and migration design between OptoNet customer environments and the Vysočina Data Centre.
